VN Calais v8 running rough and making bad exhaust fumes.

hey guys, just wondering if u could shed some light on my problem. i have an 89 Vn calais which was originally a 6cyl auto, car was converted to a 5ltr B4 i got it. conversion was obviously never done properly coz car still has 6 cyl dash/engine bay harness, 60L tank and sender/pump. car intermittantly runs rough at traffic lights, also tacho/speedo and temp gauge dont work, and there has been a wire bridged between the plug on the ecu, and another small plug up under the dash, when i disconnect this wire engine will crank but not start????. any help is greatly appreciated thanks

I have done this conversion.This is level 3 dash yes?Tank and sender should not be a problem, what error codes is it throwing? Can you get a pic of plug that the wire goes to?
