VN SS Performance Chip from standard ?

okay guys, im purchasing a very cheap vn ss soon. i have looked it over it's in great condition but i saw on the back a badge that says "performance chip" it looks to be a genuine badge but i've never heard of it. ill definitely take a picture next time i see it but just wondering if anybody knew what it was ?

I worked as a tech at a Holden dealer from 1989 to 1998 and as far as I'm aware neither Holden or HSV fitted a 'performance chip' badge to any of their cars

yeah i didn't think so i think it may be an aftermarket deal.

What about optioned ss's with the sv enhanced 185kw engine ? would that be at all a possibility ?
