Default VP Commodore Series II Sump Bolt

    Hi Guys,

My sump bolt is leaking a little and the thread is a little worn near the head so it looks like I need a new bolt however I'm having trouble locating one the same size.

With the thread its diameter is about 13.8mm, without the thread the core looks like about 11-11.5mm and has approx 1.5mm thread pitch. It fits a 19mm socket.

Nothing at supercheap seems to fit either. Its either bigger at 14mm with a huge head or smaller at 12mm (with much smaller thread). Holden can get one but don't have any on hand so I cant check if my bolt is stock. I checked Repco etc with no luck.

Anyone doing a oil change able to check theirs with some calipers? This way I can tell if mine is stock (and get holden to order one). Or atleast know if mines been replaced with something oversize.

    Well i finally found one....

auto1 is the only place that had one and it seems like it was 14mm, 1.5mm pitch.

Christ that was a pain...i dont know if mine was stock tho, as everyone seemed to think it should be 12mm.

    Yay the car has oil....

Your lucky, a mate brought a VQ 5.0Ltr and the people before had stripped the thread so instead of a proper fix the just welded the sump bolt on, so his first oil change was a engine out job!!!! Lol
