So the other day i went over a bump then BANG! and ever since then the rear end of the VP has had a rubbing/grinding/scraping sound on accelerating. Kinda like rub, rub, rub and get faster with speed. I have replaced the rear wheel bearings and no different. Everything underneath the car is fine, all bushes ok etc and the tyres are not rubbing on anything. I'm wondering if it could be the diff? Or something else? I have sat in the back seat while the car was being driven, and I don't think it's coming from one side or the other. Any help would be apprecited.

Accelarated rubbing noise = interference with rolling mass.
Check brake calipers, brake rotors, brake pads, stone shields, axle plates, the insides of your rims, tailshaft universals, and everything - inspect it all thoroughly for friction marks that indicate recent and consistent contact. There will be evidence of it somewhere![]()

Do as Morton says. It could also be a handbrake shoe dragging.

mine used to have a really bad vibration noise on idle/take off it was the exhaust, one of the rubber mounts had gone.
Check the circular sheetmetal pressing on the pinion shaft on the front of your diff. This pressing rotates with the driveshaft and is easily bent - if it is bent it will scruff on the front of the diff housing. You will have to jack the car up and rotate the wheels (in neutral) to check this.
