    hey all,just a few questions:
1.whats involved in an aftermarket computer system, what are the advantages and pricings for a V6 91 executive.

2.i know this has been done to death but,K&N panel filter or custom built airbox with large pod filter? (just opinions on this guys, just wana know whats more cost effective and worth the hassle)

3.are aftermarket throttle bodies worth getting for the 6?

4.im smelling coolant while im driving sometimes though when i go over everything there is no leak, common issue?

5.i want to change my dash cluster to blue numbers with a red needle, easiest way to accomplish this? spray it? change bulbs? change cluster face?

    1. aftermarket computer is a waste just order a chip for it.

    2. K&N fileter and CAI or buy the MACE cold air kit

    3. they gain no power but a 69mm throttle body will make the throttle extremely responsie, I always changed mine.

    1.?

    2. I have a otr cai got it off ebay for like $50 and a k&n its fairly good.

    3. Just buy the vn 5litre throttle body. apparently you don’t get any power gains but there’s a lot more throttle response with it, you can get them off ebay for like $50 bolts straight on is difficult to fit if you have cruise control, i managed though just need to shave the stopper a little.

    4. Are you losing any coolant?

    5. I coloured my needles red and made the screens red, decided the screens looked gay red so changed them back to green, the needles look good though. All you need to do is take off the needles and use nail polish remover to take the paint off the needles then ether paint them with paint (prime them first) or use some nail polish, Paint works better imo. I just used a small brush to put the primer on and did the same with the paint. While you're at it if you have sticky temp/fuel gauges take time to fix that as well while cluster is out.

1.whats the ins and outs of using a chip? easy to install? can it go wrong? what one should i get if im trying to increase torque for burnouts? best place to get them?

2.whats a MACE? and with the otr kit can i see a picture coz im pretty sure my VN has next to no room between the bonnet and the radiator.

3.what is the stock size throttle body on a S2 91 V6 executive? i wouldnt mind more power over throttle response.

4.not to my knowledge of losing coolant,if i am it wouldnt be much.

5.how did you do the screens a new colour coz i want blue, and is it possible a step by step on how to take the guages apart for all this? yea i have a sticky fuel guage at times, how do i fix this while the thing is out?

    1. email MACE telling them your vechicla details, exhaust size, TB, cam etc. disconnect battery, remove cover and grab computer, un screw cover and remove chip, pulg in new chip and put it all back together, I ordered one for my supercharged VT highly reckonmend, CLICK THE LINK

    2. MACE do aftermarket products mainly L67 motor's but have heaps of stuff here's there CAI kit CLICK THE LINK not the cheapest but probly the best i've seen

    3. stock TB is 60mm a 5L V8 TB is 65mm but you can by 69mm althought it's cheap to buy the V8 one, the nech the TB bolts to going into the inlet manifold is 69mm in diametre so any bigger is a waste.

    4. check all the coolant hose's and look for stains around the inlet manifold and water pump.

    5. PM ryan21 incase he doesn't check this again

Also there's a MACE page on this forum too CHECK IT OUT

1.i havent got much done to the car yet, only an exhaust, should i wait to get the chip after ive done more mods or can the chip be re tuned to suit what i mod next?

2.very expensive for what i can throw together with some sheet metal and a pod, might not be as cold but works the same, also is it even possible to do otr with my model,i thought there was no room and not to mention wouldnt get much air in that small space if there was.

3.so if i get a 69mm the air holes will sit flush allowing maximum flow and the bolts will line up too? better to go aftermarket for this?

the chips only 150 bucks, wait till you have a full exhaust on and TB, it'll probly use less fuel and you might gain 4 or 5kw and change small things little a higher rev limter but it depends how far you plan on taking the mods.

heap of VN's have OTR there just the factory VS L76 CAI system they sit a bee's dick higher on VN n VP's but it still works fine. I think mine cost $70 for cold air scoop and new lower air box.

ok 69mm throttle body is $220 form MACE and the 71mm form yella tear is even more vs a maximum of $80-90 for a 5L V8 TB form a wrecker. Keeping in mind there is no power gain your only adding more air to the motor.

Yeah i thought you could change the top to the v6 one but looked like too much effort thought i would just shave the stopper a little so it would fit.

also with the screens to change the colour all you need to do it take apart the trip computer when you get to the screens there’s these little green slips that go behind the screen these provide the colour just find some simular material to back it at the time i used a small plastic folder with the coloured plastic front page if you know what i mean you can get them from office works. as far as the sticky temps go there’s a guide on here pretty sure its a sticky under vn-vp and one last thing be really careful with the trip computer plastic its really brittle.
