    Default VP Electric Antenna issue

Hello, I recently picked up a grandpa spec VP Berlina, the electric antenna was not going down all the way and clicking at the end of it's cycle, I replaced it with a new antenna and mast, it goes up and down perfect now but still clicks 3 or 4 times at the end of it's cycle.

Any suggestions on what could be causing this?

    Regards,
    Chris

the travel on the motor is more than the length of the antenna wouldnt worry about it as mine has been doing it for 10 years

I'm not worried at all, but previous Holdens I've had never did it, and I figured replacing the mast would fix the clicking also, it can't be normal?

Thanks for your reply but this doesn't help my issue at all.

its just the line (rope as its called) on the aftermarket mast that's a few teeth to long, you could just take it out and snip a few off or just live with it.

I don't think that's the case, the line on the aftermarket mast would be the proper length.

Anyone that's actually been in the same boat as me after replacing their mast?

make sure the car is earthed properly. also with the adjuster switch on the cluster go all the way up before it clicks and all the way down before it clicks. after that should be okay

I don't want to buy another antenna, mine works fine it just clicks at the end of it's cycle.

Thanks again for another pointless post.

About to put another power Ariel in my vn and what the easier way to put it in.. I know the inner plastic guard comes out and do I need to take the glove box out to get to the ariel cable?
