    Default Overfilled the oil

Had a *Milton the Monster moment the other day. The oil was down to the ADD mark so I put some more in but "Whoops! Too much!" Now it is about 15mm above the FULL mark. I did this often with a 202 motor, even as much as 20mm over the mark and never had problems. Will it be a prob with a 304 motor? I have driven it about 100km since and it seems fine.

Ive heard that overfilling the oil can blow seals/gaskets or something, personally id get under the car losen the sump plug til it just starts running and once u think enough has came out tighen it back up and check the level, or you could just drain the lot and put fresh oil and oil filter in

Put a clean container under it (in case you drain off too much) and undo the sump plug. Dont drop the sump plug in the container and dont do it while the engine is warm or hot or the oil will burn you and you wont be able to get the plug back in.

Hold the plug over the hole to controll the flow, too.

If you do end up draining it all out, just pour it back in the top. Dont worry about new oil and filter unless its due for it anyway

1.5 cm is bugger all. Doubt it will do anything that bad. I had mine like 3 or 4 cms over when it was leaking like no tomorrow.

Overfilled oil on the 304 can lead to frothing (wind off the crankshaft), and can lead to aerated oil being sucked up the pickup, and a loss of oil pressure.

I would personally drain and refill for the 5 minutes it will take you, but it's your call
