battery light??

91 VN executive S2,the battery warning light comes on randomly,it always goes off though after a while,its a brand new battery,top of the line,and its been checked twice,the battery is fine,what else could be causing this light to come on?

Alternator reg probably.

i had this issue a couple of years ago, turned out to be the fuse link wire thingo coming off a battery terminal for me

check you battery teminals that what happen to me not long ago. it just need to be cleaned

i had the same problem, it was the voltage regulator on the alternator bought a new one for 45 bucks... here an old new pic. when the brushes get short you loose the connection and the light comes on. my light would go off after about 10 minutes of driving when everything warmed up, but if you leave it eventually you wont get a charge off the alternator.

Most of the the time it's the regulator but it can also be the slip rings on the rotor inside the alternator are worn out or the rotor itself has a broken winding inside and goes open circuit for a sec
