How do I drain the petrol tank in my Calais.. Is there a drain plug or do I need to take a hose off and let it gravity drain? I wanna drain the old petrol out and put new filter and fill it full of petrol.. The old owner said he had not ran petrol for a few months. I dont know what's in it so I wanna do that and I knows what's in it
Best of luck mate. I once had to drain a full fuel tank on my VN, to change a shagged fuel pump. Got most of the fuel out using a syphon, but still ended up getting covered in fuel when I removed the pump.
i'd disconnect the fuel hose at the engine end and put a bit of tube on there into a few jerry cans for the lawn mower, keep running the fuel pump using the key until it's empty.
1) Raise the back of the car as far as you sensibly can, and secure on stands.
2) Remove the lower three bolts on the fuel pump assembly flange plate.
3) Allow the petrol to flow forth, into a large bucket. And then another large bucket. And then another.
If you're near a Burson, pop in and ask for "fuel-ex" or something similar. Comes in an opaque green bottle, usually kept behind the counter. Good product you can throw into the tank with your next load of juice to remove all excess water and gunge. It sort of soaks it all up and drags it out.

I've always used the above when changing fuel pumps, as they always seem to go when the tanks full.
Cool thanks for the help.. Will ask at bursons tomorrow.. Would supercrap auto and autobarn have the fuel-ex as well? There is not much petrol in the tank cos the fuel light is on..
