I'v got a 1991 vn calais , am wanting to fit B&M shifter etc. Does anyone had this conversion done ? What is needed other than the shifter itself ? Is powerglide kit the way to go ? Auto is going behind injected 304 that has been stroked to 355.
I think you'll find that Power Glides are more for drag racing and very high horse power engines, the B&M kits come with everything needed to I stall them.

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
Tah mate, wasnt really shure which way ta go. So many different opinion's i guess.
A powerglide is a two speed transmission, traditionally bolted up to engines that have a tendancy to break everything else.
A B&M Pro-Ratchet shifter is traditionally fitted up to manually-kitted automatic transmissions, and in the case of a stock TH700, is often used to break them![]()
