So I noticed the other day that there was a slight ticking noise coming from the engine when the car is idling, I recently did a full service on it and it passed a full roadworthy inspection about a week ago.
What could be the cause of this? Lifters?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
More than likely the fuel injection system your hearing
pretty much every commodore i've heard with a buick motor has a slight ticking noise, I don't think it's bad though.
Alright, also the engine light is coming on while driving, it randomly comes and goes, but I noticed it turning on when releasing the accelerator and turning off when planting it, anyone know what this is?
I'll do an error code check on it tomorrow and see what comes up.

mine used to do that, worked out it was the O2 sensor, replaced it and cleaned the connections and it hasnt happened since/.
Does the noise get louder when it's hot, cold or on start up?

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
Injectors will constantly tick, i notice mine more when warmed up. Cold start will commonly have lifter noise until oil pressure reaches them. You could also have an exhaust leak, theres a lot of things that can tick. My Y piece in the exhaust seems to tick for example.
