Why wouldnt the light turn on when door is open?

Right, so I have a bit of a problem.. I am putting in puddle & footwell lights soon, but im down to a much more basic problem.. Recently, the interior light hasnt turned on when the doors are opened, yet it still works when the dome switch is pressed..

What could be causing this? Or where should I start to look?

is it all doors or just the drivers? could be the trigger is stuck, its stuck on my back 2 doors, mainly cos they were rearly used in its 28 years or whatever of life

just go wiggle the switch and see if it turns on bro

unscrew the switch clean the contacts and spray it with some wd40 to free it up and it should be right.

But only one of the switches needs to be on (one of the doors open) for the light to go on..

All 4 used to work. I highly doubt that all 4 switches failed at the exact same time. I'll take a look, but I dont think it'll be it..

Only thing I can think of is the light for the key doesnt work (the bit that illuminates the key).. Maybe that is the cause of it..

u havnt pushed the button that stops it turning on when the doors are open have you? ( idunno if vp's had it tho)

this is a long shot vk, but have u tried the fuse? is your boot light also not working?

boot lid light is working and the interior works (when the switch is pushed)... Its a tricky one..

Yep.. Roof globe works, key light doesnt...

OK.. thanks anyway.. Ill drop by the local parts shop tomorrow and grab one.. Failing that, Ill raid my pile of e21 bits and see if one of my 3 clusters has that type of bulbs..
