Tailgate won't shut properly

Hey guys, my vn wagons tailgate won't shut properly there I can't lock it. I've looked at it and it seems to hit the black part before where it's meant to lock into place. Do I need a new boot lock? I'm pretty lost what to do. I'm taking it for a rwc soon and don't need crap like this to piss me off and brake something else in anger (yeah I get frustrated with my cars lol)

is it jammed in lock posistion on the latch itself?

if it isnt , see if the tail gate is missaligned or the ubolt latch isnt bent or the shocks are locking up take of the shocks and try then.
