Default Ev 6 cast iron block

Just brought a hilux with a commodore v6 motor in it , looks like a series 2 engine , but its got a cast iron block and cant find the engine number in the usual spot under the coil pack , beside the air con compressor on the front of the motor , any one got any clue what it is or where the engine number is hiding ?? it has ev 6 stamped on the block so im assuming it is a series 2 vn or vp engine

You wont find engine number anywhere else. If your lucky it might be a NOS block that never went onto a car i bought one for a mates rebuild a few years ago off dandy engines these were left over from larry perkins formula holden engine builds theyre were basically VR engine blocks

Interesting that it was converted and registered without and engine number Is it registered? what engine number is on the rego sticker?

In regards to mates car we just ground off engine number off old motor and stamped it onto new
