I want to say a few things ,why is it i read and here that the v6 in vn's are a piece of crap i get told the harmonic balancers pack up all the time. Well i think any one who says vn v6 engines are junk is wrong. I have a vn it has 330,000 on the clock and ive owned this car for 4 years im 3 rd owner its never broke down or let me down. the other day i was replacing my balancer and i noticed its the original to confirm this i showed it to a Commodore guy and he said im correct its the original it has a date code of 1988 . Maybe some guys should stop putting these great cars down. Sorry if i offened any one i just think vn's are a good car and a car is only as good as its treated, and if you treat a car like crap then yes it will let you down. My vn must be one of a few that gets looked after
Mate part of the attraction of VN's for me is that not everyone likes them........They are certainly not the best looking or for that matter the best made Commodore.......But I love mine and having owned in my time a VN, VS, VT and now back to a VN as I have a soft spot for the underdog Commodore..
My first VN I got in the early 90's only did a alternater while I had it and traded it in at 230,000km
The VN I have now has just ticked over only 40,000km so nothing to replace at yet and running as you can imagine with such low kays sweet as they did 20 years ago although they were never smooth NEW
Dazz
VN BT1 Mock Up Commodore
Dynamic Locksmiths
I have a pretty good condition vn and all i can say is ill take it over most the newer commodores any day. Iv worked on owed and driven other commodores and other people in my family have owned other commodores and by far the vn are the best bar vb vc vh an vks.
