need help with vp v6

hi i need any ideas i have a 92 vp v6 commodore on gas have recently just replaced waterpump thermostat and radiator clean coolant in and for some reason the car still gets warm but its just a random thing doesnt loose any coolant either also will mention bled system of air too so no air in there the car sits half way between first and second bar but if i stop it rises to third bar and once i take off it takes ages to come back down when i first bought the casr off my grandmother( she owned since brand new) it never went off the first bar used to sit there under all conditions no matter what unless uj were in traffic and then itd just hit second bar and that was it also i have checked all connections and everythings working even thermo fan is working properly but it never gets hot enough for it to come on unless im stopped for a long enoough time any ideas would be greatly appreciated

My vp is the same as you say yours used to be. Never goes over half way unless it's low on water. A better air induction system could possibly help. Even just check your old filter to make sure it's not to full of crap. Because by the sound of it your cooling system sounds like it should be fine, and if your cars not getting enough air it can make it run hot.

Is the thermostat the correct range and did you test it before installation.

I have had the odd faulty new thermostat.
