Default Modifications to do to a HSV VP Senator

Hi all, I am looking at getting some more power out of my Senator. Just wondering if people can suggest what i could do. Looking at around 200 250 kw at the wheels..

Mods so far: Extractors, Cold Air intake.

Preferably would like to stay N/A if possible....

Any comments or opinions will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Simon

Budget? A stroker would be nice, a well set up mild one should make that easily. Or nitrous.

If you want to stay N/A, you'll need a stroker. You'd probably be best just going for a complete rebuilt motor as well, everything freshened up, if you want a reliable setup.

Bare in mind you'll need to strengthen the trans and probably the diff as well to cope, so factor that into your budget.

Thanx for the replies guys, The stroker option certainly seems like the best way to go..
Just as a matter of interest has anyone got any decent power out of a 304 without being stroked?

    Cheers

Chip, cam, heads, twin TB intake manifold. you wouldn't get much change from $6k. Go the stroker.

TBH,id start at the rear with some 4.11 gears and toughen the auto in preperation for a good engine. No good having a stout engine with a crappy overall setup.

Do the diff and trans and you can have a little more grunt whilst saving for the engine that will be complemented by the allready strong/suitable driveline.

Id stick with the 304 at that budget,a nice 400 flywheel horsepower 5ltr would be tickle pink. Not rocket science or bank ballance killing money needed to build one.

Just remember, overall setup is the key,one where each area complements each other.

Thanx again everybody for your advice... I think the stroker is definitely the way to go, especially for the power that I want.

I will also keep in mind to strengthen everything else first before slotting in the new power plant...

    Cheers
