Guys this leads on from a posting that I put in the wiring forum but seems like it goes further then wiring
I have put a vn v6 into a kart and I have found that it will not start soI am looking for some help.
Listed below is what I have done and found out.
- Conected up the standard loom. along with engine light.
- I have ran a diognostic on it and it flashes 12 (system fine)
-As there is no dash I have just used a couple of togel switches for the ignition barrel. (lots of excess wires and plugs)
- Fuel pump is hooked up and starts and stops with the relay. Running an efi pump and tank from an excel.
- I have run a test light on the injector and seems to me they are ok. light flickers on and off when the engine is turning over.
- I have tested the spark plugs and they are creating a spark
- I have taken off the air con unit and the power stering units. currently do not have a belt running arround it
- exaust oxygen sensor is conected.
- It seems like it is trying to fire on 1 cylinder only
- new spark plugs
It is puzzeling me in that there seems to be spark, fuel and air but no go.
The only non VN part is the fuel tank and fuel pump that has come off a Hyundai Excel
Any help is apreciated.
Thanks
is there enough fuel pressure? have you hooked up the fuel lines right? i had the same problem (not on a kart) everything was working just had flow and return wrong
Is the ECU earthed to the engine block or body at all. It might not run properly whilst its not earthed to the block/body. The ECU earth wires are ECU connector terminals D10, D6, D3, D1, and A12, they are all Black wires, and they all earth straight to the engine block and the DFI module.(where the DFI module bolts to the engine block).

sounds like a fuel pressure problem, might just not be enough fuel, you sure those excel parts are working properly? and if so are they ok to fuel a V6? since they were build to fuel a 4cyl? also this sounds like a wicked idea and i wana see pics and videos of this little beast asap when its up and running lol
The fuel line is running in on the side of the DFI Module and out on the side of the power steering pump. Is this correct?
