hey guys,
got a bit of a stange problem.
when im just cruiseing at say 80. after a bit the rpm goes down to about 1200 rpm when i push the pedal a bit nothing really happens the revs dont change, when i push it a little bit more say 1/4 way the rpm will just suddenly jump to about 2300 rpm.
It wouldnt really bother me but when i come up to bit of a hill the rpm doesnt change and the engine starts to labour and stays at 1500, so far the only thing i have found that kinda fixes it when i come up to the hell completely release the accellerator then wait a second then apply it again and its fine aslong as i hold it about 2000rpm.
its a vn v6 auto on duel fuel, it does it on both petrol and gas.
so far i have checked:
transmission fluid level.
tps.
adjusting kickdown cable.
throttle cable is nice and tight (not overly though)
nothing has changed the problem.
if anybody has any idea of what it could be let me know,
thanks.
i had a vp that did the same thing you can try cleaning the throttle body i found that helped
Probably a sticking valve in the trans valvebody. Try a trans serive or full trans fluid flush that might free it up.
OR the torque convertor is engaging lock too early.
Do you drive in blue "d" or white "d"?
a walkaround could be to pull the gear selector back into white "d" just before you get to the hill, or overtake. That is it's purpose anyway.
its just the torque converter unlocking perfectly normal put your foot down more or faster and it will unlock sooner
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
Given the recent umm.... decline in quality?, of above threads I’m going to bump this up.
its an old car and the trans will wear out.
do a service/fluid flush and drive in white d, selecting blue d only when you get above say 85-90. its what i do - trans fluid comes out pink every time.
