    Default aircon not working

my air con has gas in it cause when i turn the dial it has a gas sound and the fan and everything works fine but then i push the aircon button nothing happens and the thermo fan doesnt come on or any thing i dont even think the air compressor is engaging.. is the end of it ment to spin when the air con is ment to be on? so would my problem be that i need a new compressor or would it be wiring because i would still of thought that the thermo would still come on

I had a similar problem, mine was due to the fact that there was no gas in the system.... My advice would be to take it to a Aircon specialist and get them to check the gas in the system.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

That sound you here is most likely vacuum from the actuators moving the face, feet and demister parts

The fan system runs on vacuum from the engine, that sound you hear is only the vents changing from face to feet etc. You probably need a re-gas the compressor wont engage if there’s no gas. There’s a canister on the right hand side of the engine bay, there should be a little cap on the side take it off and push the inside and see if gas comes out, if there’s no gas coming out you need a re-gas.

You can get a re-gas for about $60, if you're in vic (south eastern suburbs) there’s a mechanic called wozzas or something (sounds questionable i know). they're just off mountain highway, they re-gassed mine.

Could just be the heater/aircon valve tap is a bit sticky and is getting stuck when switching from heating to aircon i had the same prob and thats what it ended up being hope that helps you.

Depending on where you are there are a few really good air con specialists out there who don't charge the earth and really know what is what.
In eastern suburbs melbourne I can recommend these guys. Much cheaper than some of the idiots I've given my hard earned to over the years and stand behind their work.

common leaks are in the evap under the dash, or leaky compressor, make sure you get dye in the system. Wouldnt count on a 60 dollar regas tho.
