I have a VN V6 S1 and the steel heater pipe that runs behind the water pump into the timing cover has corroded i have tryed everthing to get it to come out of the timing cover it will not budge i can spin the pipe in its housing but will not pop out do is there any hidden bolts tricks to get it out any help would be great cheers
no trick, just the 1 nut where the p/steering line is, just sounds like the o-ring is held in place by corrosion or gunk, just keep trying it'll let go eventually, rotating it won't do much as the O-ring will be twisting on the tube and stuck to the timing case cover...
Try spraying some crc/inox/wd40 in around the O-ring, may work.
If there's enough room turn it so the bracket is at a right angle to the engine/it's original position, support the end where the hose connected with 1 hand and tap the bracket as close to the pipe as possible with a hammer gently to try dislodge it, don't bash it and let it go on a huge angle as the timing cover is only cast aluminium.
