Default Vp motor numbers and t5 geargox q's

hey guys, got a new motor the other day, 40,000k reco, decked, v8 throttle body, extractors, chip, its a vp and t5 both recoed, well my first question,
#1 on the block its stamped EV6, as well as saquiaw(something along those lines wrote it on my hand a washed them),and grey iron, what does this all mean,

#2 the t5 gearbox, because its going in a old hq ute, im putting a ford extension housing on to save cutting more floor crossmember out just for the hell of it, ive had the ford housing on a vn s1 box and its worked fine, shifted shafts moved etc etc, wasnt running tho, now ive put it on the vp t5 and its been a epic pain, wont shift and the shaft wont turn, is there a difference between vn and vp boxes???

#3 also are the clutches compatable, ive got a vn clutch that still has the writing on it, its on the motor awaiting the bloody gear box, should work right?
btw this is all out of the car on my shed floor so i can get to stuff easily

    cheers

EV6 saginaw grey iron are generic casting nothing special.

Extension housing wouldnt have a clue. Vn-vp boxes shouldnt be any different they all bolt up to each other only v8 ones are different.

    Clutch is compatible

EV6 was the revised motor used in 91 ish VN (unofficial "Series 2") through to VR. Thats why its not on your early VN "series 1" motors.
Take the extension housing and top cover off box and make sure the syncro's are sitting correct to their respective drums, operate the drums forward to engage gear (dont overshoot!!) and sit them back into neutral position. Spin shafts and make sure their free. Refit top cover making sure selector forks are locating correctly into the blocking rings.

cheers, ive used a different box, i think it has been recoed too, the other box thats playing up has a more metal and crap in the bottum, must have been a cheap reco, i reckon ive moved the shaft wrong and grabbed 2 gears so its just gone in the shed, got 4 t5s(i ford) now, the new box appears to be working fine, just got to put in on the motor, cause of the ford extension housing the commdore slip yolk wont fit, can i put a commy bush in a ford housing, how much should a new one be???

Im positive the bush in the housings are the same, Im sure Ford boxes had an extra spline on output shaft (same as VN< auto..) Dont quote me though, its been a long time since Ive mucked around frankensteining these things!
