Hi Guys, im an old user from way back finally got myself a commy again, nothing special but im glad to be in a holden again. Gonna be keeping my liscence this time too lol.. I lost all my user ID and all so have had to make a new one up.. Anyway having a few problems with my VN and wondering if any of you could give me any advice.
Firstly when i bought the car recently the cable had been snapped and the owner had't gotten around to replacing it. I had it zip tied all together at the front grill so as when i needed to pop the bonnet i could just grab the cable and pull it to the left and it would pop open. Was only doing this until i could get a chance to grab a new cable however went to give it a service today and it snapped right off. Right up close to the latch thing or whatever you call it. Anyway there is no cable hanging out anymore and i have nothing to grab to pop it?? Obviously i had no choice but to shut the bonnet so i could drive the car again. How do i get this open if anyone has any advice id be very greatful thanks.
Secondly the other day when i came round a corner turning to the right i gave it a little throttle and it cut out on me. It was wierd it just dropped out i had nothing there at all then it come back. It was low on fuel and first i thought it might of been because i turned and the fuel had washed across the tank or something like that and the fuel pump wasnt sucking any of it in. Not sure if thats it though. I had a look on google and found that it could be an exhaust leak up near the manifold tricking the computer into thinking it has enough fuel already. I reckon it definately has an exhaust leak so thinking this could be the problem but not sure. Has anyone else had any troubles like this before???
Thanks
Got my old User ID back cheers to the Admin![]()
if you look up through the bottom of the bumper you can see the latch, it's fiddly and awkward but you can get a smallish flat screw driver up there and release the bonnet. basically get the blade in between the catch and the lock through the small round hole and work it around to release, may take a few tries to work it out, good luck
got it no worries cheers for that mate![]()
