hey all just wondering if there is a difference between series 1 and 2 harmonic ballencers as a friends has just split in half lol im getting good at doing them its my 2nd one this week lol
might be a difference in the space in the balancer for the crank angle sensor pickup. I'm pretty sure the vn had a different sensor to the vp.
^ Thats what i also think.

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!

weren't they different due to the revised crank for balancing? it will fit but you'd be better off putting the correct one on, the sensors are interchangeable, from memory the later vr harmonic balancer was different again when they started sharing ecotec parts.
different harmonic balancer design, slide fit compared to press fit. Balancer can fit any model as long as correct bolt used.

little dig here... putting a new balancer on, says to apply an rtv sealant to the the crank before putting on the balancer. necessary? or just put it on.... just wondering....

thanks for the reply man. so just use it around the washer? or apply to the crank face and sides too?

just on the washer and bolt head, the crank and balancer are sealed and covered in oil so no need down that far.
If it doesn't move, force it. If it breaksit needed replacing anyway.
cheers man....
