Default Who is "the Guru" of VN/VP members who can help me . .

Hi . . After doing a VN V6 conversion the car won't go over 40km/h

Its a 5spd holden box, "V6 conversion's" loom from Mooree (who don't answer the phone)

the check light goes to a Bright light with ignition "ON" and go "dim's" with the motor running

Rev's up no problems, responcive throttle when in the shed but it cuts out on the road in all gears about 40kay

I've slotted it into an early model BMW e21 . .

4 wheel disc's, IRS and 1 tonne weight its well suited.

All earths are fine, triple checked all the wiring, swapped over the speed sensor. Still the same Though when putting in the loom i've put the loom from a Series2 VP in accidently from a donor car which was auto. The Pan wouldn't fit in the tunnel so i sourced a VN 5spd/ motor with no computer.

Is there much different in looms are the Part No are different, the VP has 2 wires to the Oxy Sen where the VN is single wired . . what else is different

With a speedway chip in it, the car drives normal through the gears but since there designed for methenoyl it won't idle properly and flat spot down low.

Code 12 comes up, so its reading that there nothing wrong . . but the check light is on. The fan isn't on so i'm guessing that its not in limp mode . .

    I'm outta idea's . . .

If it goes above 40 with a different tune in the ecu then there is something wrong with your tune or ecu, maybe.

I didn't have a manual chip for the car originally, so i may an e-bay purchase which had the car not going over (about) 40km/h . . Aquired a speedway chip to see if it made any diff and it had the car drive at any speed you liked, but rough idle, and really bad economy due to them running Methenoyl.
Finally tracked down a standard chip from a VN manual which the car reacts the same way to the 1st chip i got . . The Tacho isn't working atm so i'm not sure if its the same speed or the same rev's that it gets too and then shuts down. Once the car slows, or goes back to idle, sweet as. Stationary, you could valve bouce the thing if you wanted . . on the road, different story.
I was guessing speed sensor . . which i've swapped over to another, no difference though
P.S i have about 5 "808", so i have swapped them around with the chips thinking it may have been a dodgy box . .
