Hey guys, nearing the end of my VN V6 conversion to my VK commodore. But im a bit stumped on the power steering set up, I went into repco today and got a high pressure power steering line and they told me that normal hose would be ok for the low pressure one so i get home and on the rack theres two intakes so my question is. How do i fit a low pressure line.
Photo #1 High pressure outlet from pump.
Photo #2 Low pressure outlet from pump.
Photo #3 Steering rack intakes.
can anyone please explain how i can hook up a low pressure line to the rack?

are you trying to figure out which is needs to be the high pressure one on the steering rack? casue there isnt 2 outlets, one is in one is out.... one line is a specialised crimped high pressure line, the other is just one that connects with hose clamps back up to the plastic tank (outlet). just go to the wreckers and get the the metal screw in connection for the low pressure one (which then connects to your low pressure hose with clamps). also both connect to the rack with o-rings, so get 2 news one as well...
dont sweat the petty... pet the sweaty...
high pressure is left, crimped fitting
return/low pressure is right, slide the oil line over that and hose clamp it in place and feed the other end to pic #2 on the res (low pressure "inlet" not outlet as you worded it)
as stated above the low should have an o-ring like the high pressure does where it fits into the rack, you don't need to do these up as tight as possible otherwise you can damage the oring and it'll then leak (fixed a few where ppl have done this and getting it undone again was impossible) if it leaks just nip it up a bit more and re-check.
as you can see they have different size threads so you can't mix them up.
