as stated im just wondering if this guys chips are any good in a vp v6?? hes bout the only one on ebay.
He tuned my VS for the Manulised auto. Was fine, no pinging.
You won't pick up a ridiculous amount from a tune on a v6 anyway.

yeh doubt il get the promised 10-12 kw but a little gain is better than none. i bought the sv 3800 tune, hasnt arrived yet
You should of done the smart thing and searched. The SV3800 tune is the biggest waste of money. You would of been far far better off getting a Mace mail order tune.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
Speaking of witch, i happen to have a mace memcal to suit vn s2 so will work in a vp no dramas, pm me if your interested

I used a greenfoam memcal in my old car, worked a treat, but I doubt you could still get them these days..
dont waste your time or money. trx said he would do me a custom tune, charged me a packet and it was only a sv3800 . greenfoam tune is awesum.
My foam tune pinged its tits of, way to much timing...
Edit. That was on 98ron

i got a tune off pro tune for a 2 bar set up seems to work fine no pinging and goes like a cut cat. he does tunes for pretty much every thing else aswell he got a heap of listings also got good feed back doesnt charge the earth either good luck with it.
something wrong if it was pinging, the knock circuitry and sensors retard the timing automatically so it should never ping (that you'll notice)
i've noticed timing retards while logging my vn at certain rpm ranges, chased that around in circles for days till i put the same timing, ve and af ratio tables into a vr and even with the higher compression and same 91ulp didn't retard it once, even advanced the timing more and still no preignition (yes i know they run different cams etc but it was purely experimental), conclusion the some older engines are just to noisy and rattly at certain rpm ranges throwing false signals through the knock sensor.
I've found it's not so much a power increase you'll get from a tune on a stock motor, i do it purely to even out for smoother power and better throttle response and have taken to leaning it out at cruise rpm's to get better fuel economy.

nah just one of those people that if it can be modded and i have the tools to do so... why not, with the price of fuel why not squeeze a bit more out of a tank.
