Should look good on a VN. But that's just another biased opinion
What is the exact size on the wheels you are buying?

Hey MasterOfReality, I don't think your wheels are SV5000 wheels. I bet they're 16x7 like mine.

lol I smell anutha (wheel on what car) debate, yeah the VN SV5000 shared there wheels with the VP Clubsport and the SV90 HSV enahnced statesman if my memory is serving me correctly.

I reckon they would look pretty good on any VN, VP..Always better than stockys, or hubcaps

LOL. Not going for a debate. I'm just amazed at the number of people selling and buying genuine "SV5000" wheels that are 16x7. The SV5000 used 16x8 wheels and had to use a VL diff to get them under the rear guards.
The 16x7 wheels are an over the counter accessory wheel from HSV.

    Lexx,

They are 16 x 8 SV5000 rims, as per HSV Authentification Letter........

I hope that clears that up.

ooooooooooooooh! Nice Gen-u-ine 16x8's. They typically don't fit VN/VP's because of the size. But you have IRS so should be a good, snug fit.
Your rims don't have the SV5000 centre caps though. That's what made me think they were the 16x7 wheels.

    Heheh,

Yeah, I have different centre caps. Instead of the protruding ones, I have the flush ones.

They are a pretty tight fit too. I have the moulded mudflaps front and rear, and the tyres rub the front mudflaps when I turn hard left or right.

And yes, beware the dodgy wheel sellers trying to pass off their 16x7's as sv5000 rims. A well known national tyre chain tried to tell me that sv5000, vp clubsport etc all 16x7's.

That's quite a few $$$ in rubber you've got on them there rims.
The S02's are nice and sticky. Should corner well. No good for burnouts though. They wear out too fast!!

MasterOfReality's wheels are the VP Clubsport ones (with the flush center caps), same as my clubby and they look sweet on any VN-VP.

Yes, they may look the same as VP Clubby rims, but they are 16 x 8's, not 16 x 7's.

    Lexx,

Regarding those S02's, I got 12,000 km out of a full set with sensible driving. The rears get chewed out something dreadful with the IRS, and at $380 each, its an expensive habit.

I have now switched to BF Goodrich's, but you can't beat those SO2's

I know the SV5000 had 16x8's and the only way to get a new set of the 16x8's was to buy a HSV. The 16x7 was an over the counter item released as a "Sports Part" from HSV some time after the SV5000 was no longer in production.
I assume that the VP Clubby had the 16x8's fitted as standard?

Yeah, I know that now!! I wasn't sure if MasterOfReality's wheels were HSV fitted 16x8's or over the counter 16x7's.

Yeah, I know. I wasn't saying that genuine VP Clubby rims are 16 x 7.

Most of those 'style' rims you see on standard vn and vp commodores are 16x7's, as Lexx said.

When it comes down to it, if you bought a HSV, you got the 16 x 8's. If you didn't, and wanted to get the rims for your executive or whatever, they were only available to you in 16 x 7.
