vp v6 wont start HELP!!!

Hi guys help me if you can!!!
my vp v6 wont start, it cranks but there is a very rich fuel smell.
There is also a crazy ticking sound coming from toward the top of the the engine.
It has spark, fuel and the battery isnt flat ..............
Any ideas?
