I am currently rebuilding a vp commodore ute and fitting an LS1 + auto etc. i am using 2 new doors of a vr calais and figured since the doors had fast glass i would wire it all up. what i need to know is am i able to get a bcm loom from a vn/vp calais and fit level 3 dash fast glass and central locking or are sedan looms different to ute? whats the best way to do this?
im pretty sure the windows run off the body loom (section that disconnects from the dash and runs back to the petrol tank and tail lights). so the dash loom is going to at least have the power option running from where the body loom plugs into it. not sure if its there for all models and just not used for non power window cars or if each model has a specific dash loom with that stuff deleted.
id say the sedan and utes would be different looms cause copper is a bit expensive to just leave yards extra in each car.
you might be better off just getting the dash and body loom off a car that already has power windows, and maybe just leave the back door ones unplugged or bridge them up some how. even easier just get one from a ute with full electrics.
check the fuse rail on a crank window model to see if the power window option is there and just blank or deleted all together...

i would have thought ( correct me if im wrong ) that the under dash loom would be the same sedan to ute but the back half is different ie tail lights/3rd brake light rear windows etc so wouldnt you just use the under dash loom and connect it to the rear harness in the ute or is the sedan harness a complete harness that runs all the way to the rear without a plug in the middle
on sedans the body loom runs to the power windows (and all door stuff) fuel pump, taillights, and dome light. it disconnects under the dash on the driver side. weather or not the power window option is there and unplugged or deleted i have no idea cause ive only ever owned berlina's and calais's... checking the fuse rail on a standard model should be the answer...

the ute loom runs under dash as per normal however at the rear wall of the cab theres a large plug that disconnects the rear loom containing fuel tail lights etc. do sedans have a similar plug as in i use a sedan under dash loom but instead of a sedan rear loom fit a ute loom, or am i not that lucky
might be completely different then, ive never dissected a ute... the sedan one unplugs under the driver side of the dash i can take a pic if you want...

this is a vn calais (july 89) the 3 white plugs separate dash and body loom. some of the spaghetti jets off to the passenger side a and b pillar for the door looms (tucked under the dash) and the rest goes back to the fuel pump and tail looms and stuff. you can see the BCM box and the open plugs and stuff sitting on the sill...

ah i see, the ute has the big plug in the middle located at the rear of the cab i would be interested to see if it would plug and play before making it extend another meter and connecting it. all i want is power windows/central locking and a damn level 3 gauge cluster lmao
the gauge cluster wiring is all in how your dash loom is setup, so your better off getting a loom that has that all sorted for you.... might be better to raid a ute with full electrics...
