Default Passenger door not opening after pressing remote

I have a VP wagon of 1993, with central locking.

It does not unlock the passenger door, sometimes it does. Unlock

    Whats going on?

Mine did the same with the rear drivers door but now doesnt unlock at all (actuator stuffed)
Try taking off the door trim and lubing all the moving parts to do with the lock, could be sticking perhaps? Id say the actuator is on its way out though
Is there such a thing as too much power?

the actuator is the little motor that pushes/pulls the lock up/down
ive never changed one but it is apparently part of the latch assembly so whole lot may have to be changed if it cant be separated

Oh k, looks like a soleniod.
When did the central locking become standard in Commodores?

This commodore has more problems than I care to admit.
A bonnet with bent hinges, cracked windscreen, the milage and trip wont advance.

One good thing it has it has a strong engine and transmission.

    Is VP a good model?

My wagon is a 1992, exactly 7 years younger than me
As far as i know, central locking became a standard fitment across all models from VT onwards

This one we have, is a March 1993 Build, it was first owned by the Pepsi Company in Melbourne it was delivered to Pepsi on August 7th 1993, then it was purchased by a friend of ours in 2002, and then we purchased the car from the friends mothers estate just in last two weeks.

It has not been in use for about 4 years, since 2007, it was used only twice before we purcahsed the car, but prior to 2007 it was full time use.

Not too worse to wear but lol.

looks like its been resprayed, or drivers door is a lot dirtier than the rest of the car lol
Get another set of hinges from your local wrecker, shouldnt set you back much
Windscreen would need to be replaced
As for the ODO and trip, There is a little gear inside the speedo that has obviously got a few teeth missing, not hard to replace if you know what your doing
I think the VP is a good model, sorted all the bugs from the VN, engines are strong as and trans can handle some abuse

the lock actuator is 2 philips screws, one plug and unhook it from the locking assembly. there the same for left and right doors too. ive got a whole bunch of them, everytime i wreck a commonwhore. think there even the same vn to vx... if got like 6 or 8 of them in a box... you just have to take the door trim off and its easy access...
dont sweat the petty... pet the sweaty...
