Hi lads, i scored a set of mace engeneering roller rockers for my hilux which has a v6 vn vp engine, When i got the rockers of a mate at the time i beleved my hilux had a vr engine mainy because it has a vr ecu etc. But to my surprise today when i went to fit the high ratio mace rockers they would not fit because vp vn use a bigger sixe bolts thea fastent the rocker down.
I was just wondering if theres anyway i could fit the vr rockers to the vn vp engine ??
any help would be good.
With VN heads.
Or by changing the rocker bases and pedistels. TBH I wouldnt bother trying to make them fit, just get a set of the correct type.
I personally dont rate the mace roller rockers, they are good for the price but there are certainly better ones available (like Yella Terra, for example)
I got them cheap so i decided to try them out. the base plate holes are large enough just the rocker holes are to small. Is the pedistels the center of the rocker?
because if i could change that i think it would be ok.
The last time I looked a maces so-called roller rockers, they werent even proper roller rockers as they didnt have the roller tips, which is why roller rockers are called roller rockers in the first place. Years ago when Yella Terra roller rockers first became popular, their ads in magazines etc all made a big deal out of them having needle roller tips, which reduced friction etc at higher revs, not just from having needle rollers in the rocker fulcrum like the mace ones I looked at had.
Yeah but have you seen the stock vn vp vr ones? they look crap compared to the mace ones. i think mace remanufacture ecotech rockers? anyway i got them cheap so there worth trying. the yella terra stuff is mint but im not willing to pay the price.
The guy i got them of said he called mace and they said you can just get them drilled out at a machine shop and they will work fine. i will be ringing them myself to make sure he isnt shitting me. But i think the only physical difference between the vn vp and vr vs is the hole diamater.
