Hi fellas,
I currently drive a VP 1992 executive commodore v6.
I recently installed a 2.5" lukey cat-back exhaust with a decent growl to it. I was sitting at the traffic lights and heard this decent idle. I look over to my right and see a 1992 VP executive v6 with this real grunty idle to it. What would he of done to it to make it idle like that? My idle sounds like it did when i had the stock exhaust on it. He drove away almost shaking the road.
Extractors; What are the best and will they sound a lot more grunty on a v6? Lukey, Redback, Pacemaker, HiTech, Hurricane?
Also, i've seen this on a lot of my mates VP's; The rear right tail light tends to take in water after a good down pour in the middle of the night. I've tried lining the outside with mastix/silicon, but water still gets in. It drives me insane.
Cheers.

Commodores; because only milk and juice come in 2litres.
If the exhaust finishes under the car instead of poking right out in the open it makes low frequencies sound stronger. Theirs might have the pipe dump just in front of the rear axle. It might scare Ford owners and sound cool to Holden owners but the noise probably drives him nuts after a while :-)
Personally Lukeys are over priced pieces of shit. I'd go with the redback, and hi flow cat. That's my opinion though. I'm not a pacemaker/extractor fan, I think there just a waste of money. Most young people just get a exhaust (standard/sports) whatever they want and have them finish just before the diff and just bash up a stock end piece so it looks rwc. Yeah it sounds mint cut off but you also run risks with it
With great cars, comes great drivers.
want the car to shake - remove one plug wire..hehe
I had to drill countless holes in my Gen 1 (2 VL's/VN)commodores taillights to drain the accumulation of rain drops
Extractors are pretty much all the same. You pay more for some brands simply because of the name. Some are built better than others, but on the street, would you feel the difference between the cheapest and the most expensive? I always say, would you get the EXTRA $150-$200 worth of performance out of the dearer brands?
Does your car have the resonator on the rear?
To make it louder, extractors and hi flow cat will definitely do that and remove the rear resonator. But do you want to spend $600-$700 just for the note?
With the tail light, take it out and seal where the lens meets the body of the light.
