    Default VN Diff Width?

Anyone know off hand the hub to hub width of a VN diff?

Thinking about using the one out of my VN in my panel van. Looking at the salisbury that's in it, it would have to be close. I can measure up the panno diff but not the VN at the moment.

    Cheers

guessing you're trying to fit it into an earlier holden?

i'd say a vl housing would be closer if the vn is to wide

    WB panel van.

I've only eyeballed it and as I said I can't measure the VN diff width at the moment, but I can get the salisbury width tomorrow.

best bet is to line them up against each other, years ago i thought an lx torry and vb rear axle were close till i had them next to each other, don't trust your eyes....

Yeah Torana is shorter than Vb.

Just after the width without pulling the diff out of my VN, which I can't get to at the moment anyway, to see how close it is.

wb is the same stud pattern from memory, wrong offset but if you shoved the same rims on both you could get a measurement without pulling the diff
what 10 bolt salsburys used to fit, damn rusty in the memory but the sle vb/vc's were used weren't they? be the same as a vl(different between disc and drum ofcourse)
vn and upwards would be wider
vn having 2 different length axles as the carrier is offset, could you put a vn carrier in a vl housing with 2 of the shorter axles? if it turns out to be to wide

WB is HQ stud pattern, not Commodore. Commodore wheels will go on but they don't fit right and stress the studs.

    HQ - 5x4.75" PCD, Commodore - 5x4.724 PCD

Looking at the VN diff because I own one. Can't access the VN for a week or so, so was just wondering if anyone knew off the top of there head what the width is.

For anyone who's interested, from what I can find online, the VN diff is actually shorter than the WB diff by 50mm, give or take.

So, I should be right. I'll start a thread on the panno soon, if anyone's interested. EFI 5L going in next weekend.
