    Default How to remove crossmember to get remove oil pan VN V6

    Need to remove oil pan from engine but need to remove to crossmember has anyone done this before that can tell me how (pics would help on where all bolts are) thanks

    You need to lift the engine rather than dropping the cross-member.

    easier to unbolt the engine mounts and raise the engine, should be able to lift it enough before the tb hits the firewall to get enough clearance, if not enough room then you'll have to undo the tailshaft, block the extension housing to avoid fluid loss, undo rear x-member and drop the back of the gearbox on a jack to angle the engine up more.
    compared to dropping/undoing the k-frame/entire front suspension, as you'd have to support the engine from above to do it that way anyway

    after explaining all that, i remember why i remove the engine and trans completely to do this kinda work
