Hey all,
I have recently had the front struts replaced in a 92 vp, But since then i have had a couple of extra issue's.
The first one is now whenever you rock the steering wheel back and forward it makes a squeaking sound like a rusty hinge.
The second is that id you push down on the front of the car it sounds like an old spring mattress.
The third one, and this is kind of the most dangerous in my opinion is that when driving in a straight line when you accelerate you need to adjust the steering and then when you back off if you don't correct it the car tries to drive off the side of the road.
Does anyone have any idea's ? I didn't do the work my self but now im wishing that i did.....
Were any new bushes fitted, and if so, do you know what type they were? Because if urethane type bushes were fitted instead of rubber type bushes, they can squeak pretty badly if they werent greased properly when they were fitted. Also did you get a wheel alignment done after the work was completed?
No new bushes and yes to the alignment.
Next time i will do the work my self, I was to busy at the time and needed the car asap...
I reckon the bearings in the strut tops are buggered.
