VS drivers window Glass Rail

The drivers side window on my Series 2 VS ute, has a cracked and warped rail at the base of the glass. Is this rail replaceable or do I need to replace the whole window.

is it the piece thats attached to the glass itself? where the greased up clip slides along it? if so i think its just easier to replace the glass. it may have cracked from being too dry and causing stress pressure. if you replace it just make sure to grease everything up and run some graphite powder down the rubber frame guides...

or instead of graphite powder i use this ford lubricant you can get from the dealers called LY70, stays wet for along time works great....

Yes it is that piece, would you know how to remove? do Holden sell new replacement rail etc?

i dont have one in front of me so im not sure how its attached. im pretty sure its with some adhesive or something.... skip all that mess and just grab a second hand piece of glass at the wreckers. thats what id do anyway...

I hear what your saying, however I'm the type of person who enjoys the challenge difficult problems pose and I would prefer, if possible, to replace the rails with new ones as opposed to s/h. Anyone know how to remove and replace these rails? Do gm sell replacements etc?

i wouldnt bother calling holden cause if they are available theyle be $400 each or something ridiculous like that. anytime i want to experiment with something and not have it cost me anything i head over to pick a part and break one of theirs... take out a window and see if you can separate the track. you might even find a door with broken window already in it, grab the track.... but just as a warning dont bother trying to pay for just that part, theyle just charge you for the whole glass...( if you get my meaning) id go there and bundle in some other purchases....
