Default 0-60mph 6.96, 1/4 mile 15.37 @ 90.5 mph

After last nights 7.11 on a slightly uphill road I knew I might be on for a sub 7 without the spare wheel and my work stuff in the car and only about 15 liters of BP premium left in the tank. So as soon as I woke up I burned that leaner launch memcal I made the other night and went for a cruise to the bush. The car felt strong. Straight up ran 6.96 to 60 mph, too easy. I thought at that speed no wheelspin and a proper 2nd to 3rd I surely can't loose enough time on the top end to do worse than 15.5 over the 1/4. So I gave it a run, I shifted into third at near 5500 rpm, I must say it's a bit worrying once your speedo is showing over 140 but yeah I was happy when it flashed up 15.37 at 90.5 mph, that's about what I had been hoping for and I thought that in theory my car should do that time, even though I never wanted to admit it would break 15.7 in case it couldn't: p but I had hopes. So I still have that massive towbar on the back but I don't really feel the urgent need to pull it now since I allready craked the 7 and have a 1/4 mile I'm happy with. I don't think I'll do another 1/4 mile now until I finish building that split plenum manifold, then the local 1/4 mile track shoudl be open, if I can learn to launch the lights properly there I should have a sub 15.5 time slip for you few guys that still have doubts this Summer (the towbar will be off I'd look too silly in a V6 VN with a towbar with all the local 10-11 second cars there), you all know the mods I have done to my car, the memcal is there, the cold air intake pics are there, the throttle body pics too and I've mentioned how I've fixed up every little bit on all those things so you all should be able to do a similar time if your engines are still running ok : )

That is bloody awsome you shold by a memcal and do what u have to do and then send it to me. haha. try crackin the 14s mark that would be fooly sic. also a question did adjusting the memcal take away the fuel cuttoff at 5500 rpm. when ever i floor it it hits this and the car strarts poppin and i have to slow down b4 it ill change gear.
cheers

Its all good and well to remove these things but why not go fully crazy .... replace removable panls with fibrglass replacments .... umm bonnet weighs the most remove all seats and replace with 1 racing fibreglass seat ... you will get wicked time but can't drive the car on the road

vnbelina, yeah the cheap g-tech's are the old model and they are also in mph 0-60 but of course the 1/4 mile is not metric anyway : ). Some people well tell you they are not accurate but mine stops spot on 60mph just before 100 everytime and I was doing the 90mph terminal speed when I looked after I had backed off once the 1/4 mile was over so I have total faith in them. They give you a quicker time than a stopwatch because with a watch you tend to be conservative and start it just as you push on the pedal, where the g-tech wont start untill the car launches (since it works on g forces) It works out to be about .4-.5 of a second quicker on the g-tech to 60mph than a conservative stop watch to 100km/h but at a drag strip you can be well and truely moving before the light goes green anyway and still not break out so a g-tech give you times very similar or maybe not even as favorable as a drag strip (depends on how good you are on a drag strip). There is no chance for me to break the 15 seconds with the car how it is now, I'd need alot more power or tourqe than I have at the moment, another 20kw maybe, I can't see it happening without a very serious exhaust system, 34 inch plus long extractors, dual cats and straight through mufflers would probably get me close but that's a waste of time and money for me , I might knock another .2 or .3 off if my split plenum manifold works but that'll be about it untill I get more serious. Oh yeah, yes the fuel cut off is set to start at 5700 rpm on my memcal my engine isn't making much power at those revs anyway so that's high enough for the moment. The only time I hit the limiter is when it's raining and I get a bad take off with lots of wheelspin or if I'm testing for max rwhp on the g-tech I'll let it bounce off the limiter in 2nd gear sometimes . The G-tech has nothing to do with the speedo, it just messures acceleration of an object : )

sobvnrpa, yep the spare wheel is worth .1 but considering I left the towbar on which shouldn't be there I'll count it all fair and square : )
