    Default Instrument cluster globe changing....

    hey, i just ripped my instruemnt cluster out for the first time a few days back to have it recalibrated.... ive been wanting to convert the stocky green globes to blue.... the only problem there is ALOT of globes... like i think atleast 10...

    its a level 3 dash.. does anyone know what the globes light up

    i wanna replace them to blue led globes and keep the red ones, cheers

    if no one replies i geuss ill just get a 9V and light a few up to see their colour

    dont know about the level 3, but the level 2 are just a plain globe wiht the green coming from the actual face itself

    Yeah, there's green perspex in the unit itself. A few people have tried scraping it off and using coloured globes. But that just looks crap and doesn't light up properly. If you want a different coloured cluster face, you need to look at getting custom cluster faces made. Doesn't cost much to do either which is good.

    although some people have had success with high intensity blue leds, they sometimes come up greenish blue with stock face.

    ahh k cheers for the heads up, so if i got a custom one made up the current globes would be all cool ???

    there was someone on this forum that made them wasnt there??? who was it lol.

    oh well something to do when i get dosh

    yeh, should look sweet, unless you go white as the guages glow colour like i did, the stock globes have a yellowish glow, so the guages glow yellowish. the guy is HCCA, theres a thread on the whiteface groupbuy, have a read through there.
