They couldn't start it but according to the panel beater there is $800 worth of damage to the lock, ignition barrell and the plastic around the keyhole/bottom of the steering wheel.. I've got insurance but its still going to cost me $250 for excess.

Why can't these lowlife arseholes just keep their hands off other peoples shit?

I don't have an alarm, but its something i think i will have to consider. The carpark was full when it happened and there was about 4 other Vs commodores around me and they picked mine.

At least they didn't steal it, and there was nothing in the car that they could steal, i'd taken the stereo face with me and i took my cd's out two nights before it happened, so I guess it could have been a lot worse.

    Damn Ford drivers........
    Still....., not good.
Now if they'd just let me patient my anti theft crook zapper, with 20,000v, we'd all sleep a little easier.

For my VP i got a mongoose car alarm. Mongoose make the factory keyless entry system (for VP not sure what others) so i figured they were the people to fit my car alarm. They have a mongoose branded outlet here in brisbane but elsewhere they only have other shops retailing (and installing) there gear. The price was $300 for they simplest of there alarms, fitted. They disable the origonal keyless entry (turn of key in passenger(VP) door) and then set up the alarm so it activates the keyless entry. I am pretty happy with the unit, although i would imagine most of them do the same thing for around the same money.
