It keeps on cutting off and on every couple of seconds say 10 to 20 and when i try to eccelerate i lose power.....It just keeps cutting off and on too often for my liking.......Any ideas Anyone........Thanks
Mine does the same, i thought it was a fuel problem at first but when i realised it was the aircon i drove with it off and car doesn't try to stall anymore.
You need to get a new clutch plate and bearing, maybee a seal too shouldnt cost you much i can't see it being over $50 and undo the little nut in the center of the compressors pulley and it all comes off.

funny thing is my air con's been playing up the last few days, when its on, it blows a mist or steam into the cabin, not sure how to explain it. it doesnt smell like engine fumes or burnt plastic, just a weird mist. (still cold though)

I know a bloke so i actaully spent about $30 on parts and repaired it myself, i assumed it wouldn't be more than $50? i don't know how much a clutch plate is but bearing are like $25 and a seal is 50cOriginally Posted by DF_Media

Hello
I do a lot of aircon work and I fail to see how the a/c clutch bearing has got anything to do with loosing power or cycling of a/c. The system on the VN commondores was a "cycling clutch fixed orofice tube" type try turning the fan on high if you dont like the cycle duration you may get cold though, the system turns the compressor off when pressure builds up in the condensor, make sure you have plenty of airflow when stationary this will help lots, ie; check that the fan works properly.
cheers AJ
The gas is low , there is a pressure cut off switch on the condensor, my need to regas your aircon,
the mist inside the cabin would be a leak , I had a stop leak put in mine fixed the problem.
Sounds like it is low on gas or it has a blocked condensor. As said before before there is a pressure cut off switch on the condensor and if the condensor is blocked the pressure will build up premeturely and the switch will keep turning the a/c on and off very quickly.
How can you tell if the condenser is blocked? Can you unblock it without degassing the system? Is there a way to test the pressure switch without degassing the system?
