You would probably be better getting a replacement cluster from the wreckers. less time and effort involved

the only gauge that doesn't stick in my car is the temp. Everything else including the speedo and tacho stick at times a good bashing cures them all. I often see other VN drivers take off and about 5 seconds out from the car park, they go *SLAP* on the dash and continue driving. I love it . One day I'll fix it but I kinda like this slight flaw VN's have

oh yeah the classic slap its gold, i have not been looking out for ppl doing it but i drive about 50mtrs and give her a slap, i got a new cluster to fix it and it does it too, must be like a vn trademark or something.
i am going to watch out for ppl slapping in the future.

Movements are plastic and pivots are too.
Heat + plastic = bend and the movements bind.Put the slightest bit of light oil on my pivots when I put the new faces on and opened up the fork where the coil pushes on the movement ...time will tell to see if Ifixed it for good.
