Unhappy How do I fix the handbrake beeping on my new cluster

I just installed a level 3 VN Calais cluster in my VP Executive and everything seems to work fine except for the beeping that corresponds the the handbrake being left on wilst driving. i.e. It beeps as soon as I take off and then every minute on the minute until I stop.

Also whilst searching through other posts I don't know if this applies but the cluster doesn't beep when the lights are left on.

Is there a way to fix this as I have pulled it apart many time to check wiring and compared with the old cluster but can't find anything wrong, or is someone willing to give me a hand to check over it again, just incase i've missed somthing?

I really want this working, I had to take it out and put the old one back in because the beeping gets real annoying.

i don't think it should beep when the lights are left on, don't they have the auto-off feature for Calais (meaning the dash wont have that option, as its out of a calais)

mine beeps when i leave the lights on!!

and my handbrake recently started doing exactly what you said every time im in motion the handbrake chime started beeping and driving me insane

i knew it wasnt my handbrake switch as the dash light for the handbrake works and it wasnt on when the thing beeped.

i ended up finding the problem it was that the rear trip computer plug's pcb had cracked on the bend (nothing to do with the 4th cluster plug the 6 pin black one at the back). So i got some info off some guys here and repaired it using conductive silver varnish and some copper strads to fix it, and then sealed it with some cheap nail polish. now the handbrake chime, chimes when it should

to check you have to remove the whole cluster the look at the back (side facing the engine when in the car) and you will see at the bottom the small black plug you can inspect the plastic printed circuit board for cracks etc and chech the plug is firmly in place

at the base of the handbreak there should b wires conected to it and 2 metal conductor plates on the actual handbreak that should touch when completely down (they complete the circuit and stop the beep), check that they are touching and there is nothing between them. The guy proly just forgot to wire it back up..

All fixed, I found the source of the beeping and removed it. No more beeping.
