stage 2 shift???

hey,
Anyone been in a stage 2 kitted vn? is it ment to not change gears till almost redline while under half acceleration? it does not seem right to me maybe my tv cable is not set right would that cause this(tranny thinking my foot is floored when it is not?) also it does not want to disengage and go to final drive unless i back off at like 150k's then soon as i give it even quarter throttle it shifts back a gear??

anyway i am going to bwcp tonight so i am meeting some guys at yatala bp out back!!

damn tv cable was too tight and thought it was full throttle!! nice hard shifts i love it. hehe

if anyone else wanna install this kit i will give you help as the b and m instructions are shite..

what is a shift kit(i no it reduces lag between gears) but who does it work is it case of installing something or modifing something in the gearbox what does one look like etc cherrs

the kit cost me $85 all up and a good few hours to install plus the joy of getting tranny fluid everywhere. cheap really, the kit gives much harder shifts eg my car had no chance of chirping second gear brfore, now it chirps. when down shifting it will compression lock up the back tyres going from 3rd to 2nd if not paying attention. thats about all it does but i raced my mate in his vp and where his auto and my auto both shift i pull about a quarter-half car length every gear change. good when spinning rear wheels too cause it will shift from 1st to 2nd and keep spinning wher before it seemed to die and drop back to 1st again.

If the box has seen better days and is full of yukky oil a shift kit will probably just kill it a bit quicker.

My VN V8 has a Corvette Servo kit in it - I had it installed while being rebuilt.

I would not do it to an old gearbox though.

Exactly, my Senator trans has done 143XXX kms, i am having it totally rebuilt with shift kit, servo, beast reaction shell, Z-pac clutch pack and a 2800 stally.

No way i'd put any of that in my trans without a rebuild. It would die very quickly.

LOL, the factory stally on my xar is a 2300 and they do **** all......... 3000 would be a bit much.
