hey guys
I'm thinking about selling my 89 VN SS but have no idea on a starting price as i bought it fairly cheap and have spent abit of money on it.. It is in fairly good condition but some friends of mine say that I would be lucky to get $5000 as they are pretty common, but I dont think they are!! ? Its a 5spd man, with low k's, brand new pacemakers, sports exchaust etc.

If I couldnt get nearly $6000 for it I dont think I'd sell it

Does anyone have any thoughts for me???

A manual VN SS is worth 6 grand in my books, I'm 100% certain someone that's looking for a manual V8 (and there are plenty of those) would buy it, put 7 grand on it and see what happens

well from wat ive seen in the trading post most vn v8s are going btween 2500-5000 grand manual and auto put a 7000 grand tag on it and see wat happens

But an SS is worth more than a budget model, plus it has a grand worth of exhaust. People know how quick the Holden 5 liter is, very good bang for your buck, the only thing that has more go fast value for you dollar is a VN series one V6. My VP V8 cost me 3600 on ebay, the insurance said market value is 3700, but I'm telling you I wouldn't find another one to replace it at a car yard for less than 5 grand, so I can't see how it's market value is 3700, wholesale value maybe but not market value, I've never seen a VN SS sell for less than 5 grand not even on ebay, cheapest one I saw was an Auto at a wholesale place, that sold for 5500 and any manual VN-VS V6 or V8 will sell for a grand more than a Auto

Id say $5000- $7500 depending on km and condition. ive seen vn ss with 200km on the clock holden dealers wanting $10k ... gees what does that say. go the VN SS if i was u keep her she is a nice car and part of aussie tradition.

I bought my VN SS manual for $3500. Lucky me! It was a friend of the family so i got it cheap. I wouldn't sell it for less than 6K. Funny thing the SS,factory optioned with a manual,but most were autos! As a result, the manuals are worth that little bit more.
I agree, put 7k on it & bargain down. Sell it to your M8 for 8K,just for messing you around! LOL

yeah id just go 7000 aswell. but what would u say a 88 model series 1 vn exec, 2 tone, full sterio, pacemakers, 2.5inch exaust, lsd, manual,powerchip gold, any many extras would go for??? 200 000k's? 16x8 rims. not that im selling mine just getting a value
