Describes error 42 as: "Open or short on EST or BYPASS line to ignition module."
The car is running roughly.. missing a lot when I accelerate, particularly under load. It got worse today and lost a lot of power at the same time, as though it is running on 4 cylinders, perhaps. Spark plugs are new, ignition leads seem to be working, though I'm not entirely sure about that.
Does anyone have any advice on where to begin? I've replaced the harmonic balancer and crank angle sensor (I thought error 42 was a crank angle sensor error, and had spares of both).
Could this be a coil pack problem/dfi module fault?
Or something else entirely?
Thanks.
Start checking the coil packs and the DFI module. Sounds like something there is playing funny buggers with you. Also, see if you can borrow a mates ECU and memcal to see if that's stuffing you up.
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.
Hope this helps you out.
cheers
