i looked at a VN today and apart from being a beautiful car, its clutch pedal was about twice as high as it should be, but otherwise the clutch worked fine, just pushing all the way to the floor and bringing it all the way up made fast take offs hard.
the guy said it was a pin or something that had come out and could easily be replace for not much more than $20.
has this happened to anyone or does anyone know about it and how much it would cost to fix?
Think the spring is gone, may aswell do the bushes and spacer also
Clutch pedal spring $3.00 Holden Part# 92031795
Clutch pedal spacer $2.50 Holden Part# 92031789
Clutch pedal bushes x2 $1.35 Holden Part# 3798256
Here's a long shot - has anyone got a diagram/photo of where this spring hooks onto the car ?
I realise the other side hooks onto the pedal - the last time I attempted this I took it to the dealer (in pieces) for the apprentice to hook the other end on.
$60 for 10 mins work - mind you it was in the workshop for 45mins - caused a little stir with the tinted headlights.
17mm bolt in pedal box, this goes through spacer and holds pedal up, remove this bold, pull pedal down and out, put spring on spacer and hold in place, tension spring and push it through top of pedal box (you can see a small hole on top left side of pedal box, there is a slot there to push spring through), hold in place and put bolt back in. Pull pedal towards driver seat, re-attack clutch cable. 15 minute job tops! Pic is in the gergory service book..
