Check you coil pack, leads and plugs. from the description you have given us it sounds like the car is missing under load. i had the same problem a few months ago.. repalced the leads and the car ran fine again.

Recheck everything you did when you put in the new pump, maybe you put the wires the wrong way round, or a piece of muck or rubber got caught in the hose.Maybe the pulser diaphragm on the pump isn't sealing properly.
Disconnect the fuel hose and make sure it really does pump, into a container ,
you can make the fuel pump run continuously by bridging out the two side terminals on the ALDL connector, then turn on ignition, if the engine light flashes and the engine fan starts up, you are in the wrong terminals, change to the other side 2 terminals.
You should get a couple of litres per minute if it's all fine.

sounds like the same problem as with VN-VS commodores, fill your tank up and test to see if it happens on r/h corners afterwards. When this problem occurs with VN-VS commo's it means the cross over pipe inside the tank has perished and therefore requires the tank to be replaced as there is no service plates or holes in the tank to access the faulty hose. Best to just live with it and keep your tank above 1/2 full
