Manual Gearbox

Hi all,

Just asking if anyone knows an estimate of $$$$ i will have to fork out to get a recon manual gearbox and installation for my vn currently an auto. I have been quoted about $1700 for the auto. Also how much for a quickshift.

I have the standard auto box at the moment and it has nearly died - have to park downhill or it wont change gears for about 30-60sec, overdrive kicks in at 80kph but then disengages at 100kph, and the usual delayed reverse.

depending on what series it is....
you will be looking at about the same for a recon manual if not more than auto.
your best bet is to find a wrecked VN 5 speed,or a damaged drivable one so as you can hear the gearbox working ,and swap everthing over...if you have a series one VN your looking at any where from $1200-$1500 to convert,including adaptor or a specially made flywheel from CRS.
if you have a series 2 it may become cheaper as the boxes bolt straight up to a series 2 auto crank.
