Default rough idle, throttle fully shut??

hey guys, for some reason my idle is abit more rough then usual, i took of the tb and corner section and cleaned them, but wen i put the tb up agaisnt the sun i could see faint light around the butter fly in some parts, is that normal, i tried fixing it but no good, and now my throttle stays on just alittle, and i gotta pull the throttle with my fut back abit and it will rev lower, how can i fix this and will that make it run rougher?? i think thats all my proplems...

Check your idle air control valve. Try cleaning that out too. Doesn't take much to get it out, and it's well worth it.

And once you get it all back together, don't forget to reset your ECU.

Idle air control valve is actually in the throttle body, it's the little thing with three leads running into it. Pull your t/b out and disconnect everything, then undo the two torx screws holding the IACV in place and pull it out. If yours is anything like mine it will be caked in carbon buildup. Clean it up and shove it back in.

When you held the throttle body up to the light and you could see light shining around the butterfly this is exactly how it should be after cleaning. DONOT touch the throttle screw which is factory set. If you still have idle quality problems after cleaning the T/Body and IAC motor then problems lie elsewhere. Diagnostics have to be done then to find the cause! As a mechanic the worst thing I come across is people fiddling with things they no nothing about and then expecting me to sort it all out for them.
